Went back again primarily to follow up on Friday's discovery of Spotted Lanternflies. Obs. made from 3:05 to 5 p.m. Mostly Cloudy with a few sunny breaks and 80 degrees. Did not intend to do much butterfly counting but was taken in very quickly by large numbers of Buckeyes in the large stands of White Snakeroot. Many of the Buckeyes are Rosa form now. A few small recent rain events have really made this location come alive. Yesterday's South winds must have brought in the Buckeyes & more Fiery Skippers as well.

Despite being distracted by the large quantity of Buckeyes, I was able to re-locate the Lanternflies & destroy at least 8 of them. Several got away and at least a half dozen were beyond my reach in a mature Alianthus Tree. I will be reporting this for further attention.

Fiery Skipper numbers continue to be outstanding here and rising. Had 18 males & 10 females today.

[Dave, thanks for including the spotted lanternfly action. I am hoping others of us will continue with your lead in reporting them (if not xxxxx'ing them) when seen. jc]
