I've expected this black swallowtail caterpillar to progress to the chrysalis stage for over three weeks. It will be munching on the parsley on a warm day but the next day it is cool and it becomes stuporous. Is this normal behavior in autumn when it is warm one day and cooler the next?
I also saw a skipper on some chrysanthemums but was not quick enough to ID it.
