Pat & Clay Sutton

Cape May Point
Cape May County, NJ

We were mostly in "off the beaten" spots, to avoid people. 1st Red Admirals in a long time! 5-10 Monarchs were in view all day long floating by us, migrating south. They were especially in evidence when we went to 3 dune crossovers in CMPt to drink in the close migration of raptors and steady movement of Monarchs heading south down the dune line. With the strong winds they were not crossing the Bay. No way of knowing how many we saw, but 1000s upon 1000s. 3,000 is probably way low.

[Thank you for the details and the numbers. Sounds like a wonderful watching experience, as the monarchs leave NJ for their long flight! jc]
