South Jersey Butterfly Project
Cape May County, NJ
Sunny and windy. The Common Checkered-Skipper was a lifer! Since it was staying put on the ground, I got out my phone to take a picture. I was no further than 6 feet away when a cheeky bird (flycatcher sp.) flew down from a nearby tree, pounced on it and carried it off. So, unfortunately, no photo.
[Ouch! But it still counts as a lifer! Congratulations! jc]
