Sighting for October 10, 2020

Jack Miller

my yard Petersburg
Cape May County, NJ

Cloudy and 70. Observations made throughout the day. I found about a dozen black ST first instar cats on parsley. Yesterday, the yard's last Brazilian eclosed; it was fun having them around this year. Once again, one of today's long-tailed sk's was perfectly fresh. Is it possible that some of these fresh LT's originate from the Cape? They certainly don't look like long distance migrants. Host plants like beans and wisteria are common, but I wonder if anyone is looking for cats on them.
