10:45-1 pm. Sunny and warmed up to 80 degrees. American coppers fresh. Ran into Karl Anderson & Gale Cannon–Gale's hat attracted the hackberry. Common milkweed just about open–another couple of days yet. Monarch was on the way to the inner field that I couldn't quite find my way to–very overgrown. There is some c. milkweed and a patch of orange butterfly weed there but couldn't find it. Possibly 2 more snouts but up high and gone. Also another dark grass skipper got away.
[A delight to see our log's FOY hackberry for 2022 in such an eye-catching shot. Good work, Chris! jc]
