10:00- 2:15. A slow-walking 4 hr survey of the power lines at Mac became in part a study of n. cloudywing. On 5/15/21 after seeing 6 s. cw's and 0 n. cw's here, I reported to the log that "N's may be gone from here." What a turnaround, as today it took me 3 hrs to finally turn up 1 s. cw against 16 n. cw's (Note on photos: light wing fringe on s. cw as opposed to darker patterned fringe on n. cw). The azures were all worn, and although most of the them were active around the inkberry hollys (ilex glabra), I could not get a photo of ovipositing. The snapper laying eggs was huge.
[Good work, including our log's FOY dun skipper for 2023. jc]
