Fiery Skipper: a fresh male

Flying south! Very low to the ground.

9:50 am / This species has now been documented all 11 months of this year.

flew briefly when the sun came out. spent the rest of the day and night tucked in under a buddleia bloom.

Orange Sulphur: taking shelter low in the vegetation; Pearl Crescent: nectaring on small white asters

Mourning Cloak: went inside my shed - did not come out

Cabbage White: a fresh male; Sachem: 2 females

Red Admiral: came out briefly. This is the 100th day that both Sachem & Red Admiral have been observed in this garden.; Sachem: same Sachem on buddleia. Later moved on to some Purple Lantana closer to the ground.

Common Buckeye: a 'Rosa Form' / This species has now been documented all 11 months of this year.; Sachem: a male nectaring on Dandelion

Black Swallowtail: 2 Cats on Flat-leafed Parsley and 5 Cats on Curly Parsley; Red Admiral: This species has now been documented all 11 months of this year.

Was initially dorsal basking, then closed it's wings and engaged in very aggressive shivering.
