Eastern Tiger Swallowtail: the only two here today, both on buddleia; Orange Sulphur: 30 species here today; American Snout: at " tie off point" basking dorsally for nice images; Variegated Fritillary: on d&elion & white clover; Eastern Comma: all worn; Red-spotted Purple: all puddling; Tawny Emperor: puddling, only my 2nd in NJ this year; Monarch: 2 were females; Wild Indigo Duskywing: on blue vervain; Common Checkered-Skipper: on knapweed. The 51st species documented here.; Common Sootywing: documented here previously, but this was my first one.; Swarthy Skipper: nectaring on buddleia, salvia, blue vervain, & knapweed sp. all blue/purple flowers; Tawny-edged Skipper: possibly several more, but was unable to view dorsally.; Crossline Skipper: P.sp. here are tricky right now. Requires careful observation.
