Black Swallowtail: a female; Orange Sulphur: yellow females; Juniper Hairstreak: nectaring on an Aster species; Eastern Tailed-Blue: a female; Red-spotted Purple: egg laying on Black Cherry; Silver-spotted Skipper: nectaring on Privet and Viburnum; Least Skipper: nectared on Dandelion, Black Medic, Pink-flowering Morning Glory and White Clover; Zabulon Skipper: 2 fresh females / one male nectared on Common Cat's-ear; Aaron's Skipper: nectaring on White and Red Clover and Privet; Dun Skipper: nectaring on Red Clover

European Skipper: MINT FRESH / saved the best for last - 64th butterfly species for 2014

Spicebush Swallowtail: digital image of one nectaring on Japanese Honeysuckle; Cabbage White: nectaring on Common Cat's-ear, Virburnum Blossoms and Primrose-leaved Violet (Viola primulifolia); Eastern Tailed-Blue: a rag female, 3 fresh males / the rag female nectared on Viper's Bugloss / a Cabbage White nectared on this plant species, also; Anglewing sp.: really zipped by / my guess - Eastern Comma; Painted Lady: both mint fresh / one nectaring on Red Clover; Common Buckeye: very fresh / landed on Red Clover; Hackberry Emperor: Mint Fresh / This is butterfly species # 65 for 2014.; Monarch: very large, pale one; Horace's Duskywing: a very well-worn male nectaring on White Clover - digital image; Swarthy Skipper: I think, it was a female egg laying on grasses.; Least Skipper: most nectaring on White Clover / one nectaring on the yellow flowers of a Primrose sp.; Sachem: worn female nectaring on White Clover; Zabulon Skipper: two fresh females; Dun Skipper: one male was doing territorial skirmishes with a male Zabulon Skipper

on dune path at 8:05 pm, there were two Red Admirals racing up and down the dune system with clouds, fog and dampness upon us!!!
