Cold sun and wind did not stop a Common Buckeye from being active. It was 42 degrees at 10:20 am, when I saw the attached buckeye on the move. Had to work the rest of the sunny and cloudy day.

There was no nectar on the power line and still found a buckeye. Saw over a hundred Yellow-legged Meadowhawks and at one spot had a cluster of them in the air of over twenty, at once!

Found 2 buckeyes gathering sun just after 9:30 am when the temperature was only 38 degrees! In the afternoon on the bike path, I discovered a Sachem.

The clouds left toward 2 pm and there was full sun for over 30 minutes until a large cloud came and covered the sun. During this sunny period, I found 2 Common Buckeyes, 2 Sulphur species and an Eastern Comma which left the ground and flew to the top of a large deciduous tree.

Took a walk from the bay to Rte. 47 and back. At 11:26 am with sun and 44 degrees, I located a Common Buckeye on Gus's Beach Road. Found an Orange Sulphur at 12:26 pm along High's Beach Road and it was 47 degrees with full sun.
