Whitesbog (MANTIZ Bioblitz)
Burlington County, NJ

Lots of Clethra but we couldn't find many butterflies, unfortunately. (Heard about spicebush swallowtail and dion skipper found by other participants.)

Our own low count partly due to distraction by the botany and pond dipping field trips and by meeting so many friends participating in the Bioblitz. A delightful event!

Late afternoon (5:05 - 5:45) visit to see how things are since my last time into the area. The senna is as high (almost) as an elephant's eye.

Didn't dive into the senna patch, yet had double-digit count along the road, most of them are fresh looking. A big emergence hopefully is nearing or underway.

FOS Cloudless Sulphurs flying now too in the area.

[This is our first report of cloudless for 2018. According to Lep Log, they have been scarce from VA north (like many other species). Keep an eye out, everyone! jc]
