Stopped here to see if Cobwebs were flying. Found three. Still sunny and a warm 82, but winds picked up quickly to WSW16. Only casual observation of other species today. Duskywings were pretty much "no-shows" today. Obs. made between 12:35 & 1:40 p.m.

Obs. made between 10:30 & 12:20, mostly sunny 72-82 , and SW9-10. A much more productive visit compared to ten days ago. A mix of fresh and well worn Hessel's. White M had seen better days. Only the 2nd time that I have seen Juniper Hairstreak here. There are some E.Red Cedars here along with the A.White Cedars.

[As usual, spring brood of white-M has been hard to find. This is only our second report of the species this year. jc]

Dix WMA- Sleepy Orange Colony

Did an initial check on the colony today and found two Sleepy's flying. Both fall brood, so over-wintering individuals. Went about the rest of the day singing The Who's: "The Kids Are Alright".
