My FOY butterflies! Just a fleeting glimpse of the anglewings, but the Am. Snout perched for me. I have seen snouts in this location in previous mild years in the late winter and early spring.

Eastern Comma, repeatedly returned to pose on sun-bleached log. Nothing in bloom.
[Check out these good photos of two sides of same puzzling individual! The topside/dorsal fits EACO, but the "comma" on ventral is broken, so a quick look only at that side could lead you to call it a QUMA. Fred K was not fooled, however! jc]
