2:30-4:00, 60+, but cloudy and windy, bfs flushing quickly. Couldn't get a close, sharp shot of any. Several bees nectaring on low-bush blueberry and bearberry looked like blueberry digger bees, Habropoda laboriosa (photo'd one with face of male).

My second ever White-M from the spring brood was found on Beach Plum. My first was April 18, 2019. FOY Horace's (no dots on the ventral hindwing!)

9:45 - 12:00. 300 ETB's is conservative. One puddle, one moist ex-puddle, and one dry ex-puddle respectively hosted 70, 60, and 60. No matter where I was, a 360 degree look was bound to reveal today's ubiquitous bfly. There are bunches of cedars here, and any time I staked one out juniper hs' would flush from high up, usually in pairs, and dogfight. Only one ever came close to the ground. Two of the sleepys were fresh females.

Variegated are our default Fritillary seen Spring though Fall, but this faded specimen must have overwintered somewhere and migrated here. The American Copper was in its habit, knee-high Sheep Sorrell.

Short notice SJBP Field trip. 9:30 - 12:30. Mostly cloudy and mid 80's. A lovely outing observing bflys, moths, birds, herps, tiger beetles, 3 sp. of jumping spiders, and a Lateral-lined Sharpshooter. No one mentioned counting, so numbers are conservative.

Recently sprays milkweed growing in a small landscaped bed. Half an hour later notice a female Monarch egg- dumping a total of 16 on two emerging milkweed plants.
